Services

In addition to the usual stuff like cameras, tripods lights and mics, we offer a range of services to help you deliver your message

Project Management

We can step in to the process at whatever stage you like, it may just be a back of an envelope idea at the moment or a fully realised script. We help develop the concept and drive it forward to actuality.

Script Writing

Turning an initial idea into a usable and effective piece can be a daunting process. However - developing the ideas, creating a structure and developing a comprehensive script and storyboard will pay huge dividends once shooting commences. Not least because unnecessary footage won’t be shot, thereby saving time and expense. But you will also be assured of meeting the objective of producing an effective and impactful piece, in the most creative manner possible in order to connect with your desired audience.

Clear direction and good performances will stem from a good script but simple factual pieces will also benefit from being produced from a clear and comprehensive brief.

We can take your concept and then develop and expand the idea so that the message is finally delivered succinctly. Corporate messages or sales pitches are honed and polished. Informative and educational pieces are presented in the most appealing and exciting style. In short your message will look and sound professional.

We can help develop a two line ‘back of the envelope’ idea or expand a more detailed brief into a full script, so that before the lights are turned on and the cameras roll, you are totally confident that the piece will work.

We also run a laptop based system for those on location edits when time is at a premium.

Case Studies

MHAG - Project Management From Inception to Delivery

A piece of work of which we are extremely proud and humbled to have been asked to contribute to. We worked alongside Derby Mental Health Action Group and Mind to produce a training piece to be used throughout the bus industry highlighting the problems those suffering from mental health conditions have when accessing public transport.

Involved from day one we, along with the key shareholders, developed the concept and script then arranged the logistics of the shoot. The final piece was rolled out to great acclaim both within the industry but also within the field of mental health awareness.

Originally distributed via DVD the programme was subsequentially made available online.

SkinMed

Over the years we’ve worked with SkinMed extensively but this project was a little bit of a new departure for them.

The delivery of training via an online knowledge base

A series of modules, based on the previously delivered in person training sessions, was designed to be produced around live demonstrations of actual treatments on real life patients.

We worked with the client team to co-ordinate the shooting schedule, assuring patient consent was obtained, clinical practices were strictly adhered to and all the necessary equipment was available.

Shooting took place over a couple of days in London, then working with the client in attendance at the editing suite, the various sections were assembled incorporating graphics, text, voice over and some ancillary to camera presentations. Once the pieces were ready to go we outputted the master files at full resolution for archival purposes and at a slightly reduced compression for the clients online platform.

RBL – Annual Conference

The Royal British Legion commissioned us to cover their annual conference a three day event with over one thousand delegates and an online audience.

Initial discussions revolved around ensuring that the live coverage of the event would cater for both those in attendance and those watching remotely. As such we suggested delivering two mixed outputs, one for the screen above the stage, the repeater screens throughout the venue and in the green room, the other output was to be for the clients online delivery in this case through their own website.

Inputs included three cameras, two at fixed positions with the third a roving mobile handheld rig connected back to the mixer via a Terradek wireless transmitter and receiver.

The client would be supplying a graphics feed with our team supplementing this with additional graphics and overlays especially for the online audience. Throughout the event a voting app was used with the questions and results fed into our mixer via separate feeds

During pre-production we accompanied the client on a site visit, though we know the venue well, we also worked with the in house AV team to ensure they understood and would deliver both the lighting and sound feeds to meet our requirements. Prior to the event We arranged a test stream to ensure compatibility between our output, the voting app and the clients delivery platform embedded on their website.

The Tricaster mixer which we used enabled us to manage all these inputs independently and output different images to the two different audiences for example the in person audience could see the PowerPoint on the screen while the on line audience saw a composite of the same PowerPoint and a camera shot of the speaker. During coffee or lunch breaks while the auditorium screen continued to show a holding slide the on line audience had a picture of the whole auditorium with a text overlay as a lower third saying at what time the meeting would resume.

A smaller satellite simultaneous meeting, held in a breakout room, was also covered and streamed with single camera coverage and graphics again fed into a Tricaster for ease of streaming.

We worked with the venue prior to the event to ensure that the internet connections were sufficiently stable to ensure that the feeds wouldn’t drop out. We also produced the required risk assessment and associated documentation, whilst liaising with them over camera and mixer positions, audio feeds, cable runs etc.

As part of the coverage we recorded the whole event as back up, both in camera and as a master transmission for inclusion in the highlight piece we were to produce post event. For this vox pop style interviews with key attendees and officials was scheduled into the shooting plan along with the collection of B roll around the exhibition and venue generally. We also arranged to cover the parade through the local town on the Sunday morning.

This all required close cooperation throughout the run up to the event with all parties concerned.

Our project manager therefore scheduled regular catch up meetings with the venue and client and held briefing meetings with our team of techs so that everyone knew what was required to be in the right place at the right time to collect the desired footage.

Post event we produced the required edits promptly within the agreed time frame to help maximise the impact of the clients promotional activity.

All in all a fun job that utilised the majority of our core skills!

Content Delivery – Hybrid Events

At conferences, seminars and meetings, the footage we acquire and display both in the venue and more often than not, remotely over the internet, often has a life beyond the event.

Often we are tasked with archiving footage for use in promoting future events or its incorporation into further programmes.

Sessions or individual speakers may be edited up and delivered as MP4 files to the end client to host on their own websites or via one of the bespoke platforms which we offer.

Either editing live at the event, so the footage is instantly available or producing content in post we present the footage in a clear and understandable manner incorporating any required branding, graphics and presented media such as powerpoint or video clips.

Market Research

We work with a range of companies and agencies in delivering market research studies. Often working with self-shot mobile device footage, we prepare briefing documents to the participants containing hints and tips on how best they can acquire the desired footage along with instructions on ensuring the highest quality sound and vision and delivering the raw material to us for post production

The footage is then edited and ‘sweetened’ with graphics and text based on the briefs supplied by the client. In the past we have supplied variations of the outputs to suit differing needs for example clips for inclusion in presentations or for use in social media campaigns.

Some projects require us to record Vox Pop interviews with targeted demographic groups or individuals.

We work with the client to obtain the permissions and releases from the participants, and that the necessary on-street or location authorisations and licences are acquired and adhered to.

Graphics Direct

Graphics Direct needed a couple pieces producing for a presentation to a key supplier. We had to work quickly to meet a tight deadline, the final pieces where thus planned, shot edited, and placed online within 5 days.

IST + JF

As both businesses rely greatly on the personalities and approachability of Andy and Julie, these pieces were planned and implemented as simple green screen shoots, enabling us to place these key 'human faces of the businesses' in the foreground while delivering subtle messages around their performance.

Lorien

As well as delivering the nomination videos for their annual awards we provided live coverage of the actual awards which was fed to the stage and ancillary screens.

As well as archived for a highlights package which was edited prior to distribution to the wider company via their intranet.

Further footage of the successful world record attempt which formed part of the day’s events was also assembled into a short piece to be similarly distributed amongst colleagues who didn’t attend the event.

Neema

Craft Aid international came to us to help promote their project in Peru. They had a very limited budget, little usable footage or media that we could incorporate but we were still able to produce this promo for them.

Conferences & Live Events

KTV provide live cameras for a wide range of events such as conferences, award shows, gala dinners and presentations, These camera feeds are often take live to the screen but also we record the live mix for future distribution or for inclusion in promotional pieces.

Our range of cameras and mixers ensure we can offer the ideal solution for situation at any venue.
